On Thursday morning (November 20), a municipal worker crossed the Yamuna River, shrouded in foam and polluted by pollution, in a small boat in New Delhi, India. New Delhi, with a population of approximately 30 million, is one of the world's most polluted national capitals. Every winter, cold air traps pollutants near the ground, mixing with pollutants from burning crops, factories, and cars, shrouding the city in thick smog. Water pollution in New Delhi is also severe, and the local government is attempting to clean up the Yamuna River to launch recreational boat and ferry services. (AFP)
