The starting pitchers were Blake Snell (Dodgers) and rookie Trey Yesavich (Blue Jays).
In the top of the first inning, Davis Schneider hit a solo home run, breaking the deadlock for the Blue Jays for the first time in the series.
In the top of the third inning, Greno Jr. hit a solo home run, his second consecutive home run in the series, giving the Blue Jays a 2-0 lead.
In the bottom of the third inning, Enrique Hernandez hit a solo home run, helping the Dodgers pull one run back, trailing the Blue Jays 1-2.
In the top of the fourth inning, Dalton Vashj hit a triple to reach scoring position, and then Enni Clement's sacrifice fly gave the Blue Jays a 3-1 lead.
In the top of the seventh inning, Dodgers bullpen pitcher Enriques threw a wild pitch, driving in a run, followed by a single from Bechter, extending the Blue Jays' lead to 5-1.
In the top of the eighth inning, Farefa hit a single to left field, and Clement scored, giving the Blue Jays a 6-1 lead over the Dodgers.
Blue Jays starting pitcher Yesavich struck out 12, setting a new rookie record for strikeouts in a World Series game.
Game 6 will be played on October 31 at the Blue Jays' home stadium.
