November 4th - The Lakers' away game against the Trail Blazers in today's NBA regular season game has concluded. The Lakers defeated the Trail Blazers 123-115.
After the game, Lakers head coach JJ Redick was interviewed by reporters.
Reporter: "Right now, to execute a good offense, you might have to sacrifice some shot selection. These days, the only good options are three-pointers and layups. But your team has Rui Hachimura, whose mid-range shot is incredibly accurate, and Ayton, a low-post offensive center. It seems like your shot selection tonight was among the worst in the league right now, but it worked out quite well. What's your take on this offensive approach?"
Redick: "I think it's two different things. If you consider the big picture, with 82 games in a season, you have to think about which shot selections are more valuable and provide the biggest advantage. How do you create advantages, how do you get open shots? But in tonight's situation (against a small lineup with endless switching defense), we only cared about putting the ball in the basket, getting shot opportunities, and making our offense a little more organized."
