November 15th - Former NBA player Patrick Beverley was arrested in Texas on felony assault, according to a previous report by TMZ.
The 6'3" guard was detained by the Bowenn County Sheriff's Office in Richmond, Texas, on Friday. According to local records, Beverley is charged with assaulting a family member and obstructing a family member's breathing, both third-degree felonies.
Today, Beverley updated his Instagram with a statement:
Patrick Beverley has no criminal record. He has a deep love for his younger sister—a minor. Therefore, his concern when he unexpectedly found her alone at home with an 18-year-old man late at night is completely understandable and is the concern any older brother should have for his sister. However, we disagree with the way the events have been described and look forward to clarification in court.
Please pray for our family!
Beverley previously played for the Rockets, Clippers, Timberwolves, Lakers, Bulls, 76ers and Bucks, and later played overseas.
