On November 19th, the Associated Press reported that Michael Jordan donated $10 million to a regional medical center in North Carolina in memory of his mother, Deloris Jordan. In an interview, Jordan said, "My mother taught me compassion and the importance of community, and I can't think of a better way to honor her than by helping those in need access to the most advanced treatments for neurological diseases." The neuroscience institute at the recipient medical center will now be named the Deloris Jordan Neuroscience Institute and is scheduled to officially open in early 2026.
