November 20th - In an NBA regular season game, the Miami Heat defeated the Golden State Warriors 110-96. After the game, Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra gave an interview, discussing his appointment as head coach of USA Basketball under Steve Kerr. Spoelstra stated, "I've said before that I'm truly grateful for the opportunity to join his coaching staff over the past two summers. Our whole team had a wonderful time. It was a life experience, like a basketball introductory course. We all benefited immensely; it was a valuable experience in itself for basketball coaching development. Although it's still the same four lines, two rims, and one basketball, FIBA games are a different sport. We learned our lesson in the first year, and in the second year, I think the experience of the previous summer helped us better cope with the challenges of the Olympics." "I was very impressed with the way Kerr handled everything. We all know the pressure is immense, and I think that's part of his genius; he handled it exceptionally well. He not only put all the expectations on the team but also got the team into peak condition in crucial moments and was able to overcome adversity like against Serbia. I think that's a testament to his exceptional leadership. I'll never forget this experience."
