October 19th: As of today, the Rockets have yet to reach a new contract extension with their 2022 first-round draft pick, Tari Eason.
Last season, Eason averaged 12 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.7 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game. The deadline for early contract extensions for the 2022 draft pick is October 21st at 6:00 AM Beijing time.
If no contract extension is reached, Eason will become a restricted free agent next offseason, and the Rockets, as the parent team, will have the right to match offers from other teams on the market.
