The UCLA player, who has played 11 years in the NBA, was furious about missing out on the All-Star game last season.
He has every reason to be angry.
Moreover, since being traded from the Clippers to the Heat this offseason, he doesn't want to rely on luck anymore.
Currently, Powell is setting career highs in almost every statistical category.

4 rebounds per game
3.3 three-pointers made per game
49.5% field goal percentage
93% free throw percentage" 0.3%
With Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo both plagued by injuries early in the season, Powell has consistently shouldered the Heat's burden.
Under his leadership, the Heat are currently atop the Southeastern Conference.
If he can improve his shooting percentage to over 50%, Powell could become the tenth player in history to join the 50/40/90% club.
Nine players have already achieved this honor, seven of whom are already inducted into the Hall of Fame or are certain to be inducted in the future.
If this isn't enough to secure him an invitation to All-Star Weekend, then nothing can get a player an invitation, right?
