November 21st - Warriors forward Draymond Green responded to former NBA player Kenyon Martin in his latest podcast.
Martin had previously stated on the show that many of Green's actions on the court are well-thought-out, and he doesn't provoke those who might retaliate against him.
Regarding this, Green said, "It's disappointing to see all this talk and attacks. You deserve more love. But considering you were the number one draft pick and didn't live up to expectations, I guess that's why."
"For most people, being the number one draft pick and only making one All-Star appearance is considered below expectations. Me, the 35th pick, four-time All-Star."
"They always harp on my name, as if I didn't perform up to par. I was the 35th pick, but it proved to be the right decision. I became one of the greatest players in franchise history."
"If I stopped playing today, my career would definitely be more successful and impactful than yours. Kenyon (Martin) lost several Finals games; he tasted winning, but not a championship. That's still something, but if you want to continue judging others, your resume has to be impressive enough."
