November 25th - Today, Los Angeles Dodgers player Shohei Ohtani, who won the 2025 MLB National League MVP award, announced that he will represent Japan in the 2026 World Baseball Classic. The 2026 World Baseball Classic will be held next March, with group stage matches held in San Juan, Puerto Rico; Houston, USA; Tokyo, Japan; and Miami, USA. Defending champions Japan are in Group C with Brazil, Colombia, Chinese Taipei, and Nicaragua. Chinese Taipei will face Japan at the Tokyo Dome on March 6, 2026. Ohtani led Japan to their third World Baseball Classic title in 2023, winning the MVP award.
