The draw for the 2027 Rugby World Cup group stage will be held on December 3rd. All four pots have been determined. In the second tier, Samoa, despite qualifying through the qualifying rounds, has been relegated to pot four after being overtaken by Tonga. Belgium is the only team ranked in the top 24 to fail to qualify for the World Cup. Canada qualified with a world ranking of 25th. Japan, through its victory over Georgia (Japan defeated Georgia to win the Triangle Cup), successfully swapped its ranking with Georgia and moved into pot two.
