On October 20th, ESPN reporter Shams Charania reported that the Portland Trail Blazers and forward Toumani Kamara have reached an agreement on a four-year, $82 million contract extension, his agent confirmed.
Kamara was selected by the Suns with the 52nd pick in the second round of the 2023 draft and later joined the Trail Blazers in the Deandre Ayton trade.
This contract extends Kamara's contract with the Trail Blazers through the 2029-30 season. Last season, Kamara ranked ninth in the league in total steals and was one of seven players with 100 or more steals and 50 or more blocks. He was also named to the All-Defensive Second Team.
Last season, Kamara played in 78 regular-season games, averaging 11.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.5 steals in 32.7 minutes per game, shooting 45.8% from the field and 37.5% from three-point range.
