On October 20th, the Nets updated their official social media accounts, stating that Haywood Highsmith experienced swelling in his right knee while recovering from meniscectomy surgery in August and will be re-evaluated in eight weeks.
Highsmith was traded to the Nets from the Miami Heat during this offseason.
Highsmith averaged 6.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game last season.
