
On October 20th, the Rockets updated their official social media accounts to announce a contract extension with Kevin Durant.
According to previous reports, Kevin Durant and the Rockets have reached a two-year, $90 million contract extension, with a player option for the 2027-2028 season. Durant could have signed a two-year, $120 million maximum contract extension with the Rockets, but he asked for $30 million less to maintain salary flexibility.
The Rockets will open the new season on October 22nd against the defending champion Thunder on the road, where Durant will make his regular season debut with the Rockets.
