Both Diggs brothers had big news today. Trevon Diggs, the younger brother and cornerback for the Cowboys, requested permission from head coach Brian Schottenheimer to stay in Washington D.C. with his family after the Christmas Day game against the Commanders, but was flatly refused. He then said he would take the earliest flight back to Washington if he returned to Dallas, but this was also refused (I didn't understand this second refusal). Then, early this morning Beijing time, he was cut from the team.
The situation with his older brother, Stefon Diggs, the star wide receiver for the Patriots, is even more confusing. The gist of it is that Diggs' female personal chef asked him for payment, which somehow angered Diggs, who then allegedly assaulted and choked the chef. In their official statement, the Patriots expressed their support for Diggs, but it's unclear whether this accusation will affect his future playing time.
