On October 19th, Shams Shams reported that Kevin Durant and the Rockets have reached a two-year, $90 million contract extension, with a player option for the 2027-2028 season.
Subsequently, ESPN salary expert Bobby Marks provided an update:
The Rockets' salary cap is projected to be $80 million below the second-highest salary cap next season. This extension provides the Rockets with flexibility: they can retain Tari Eason and add players in the free market while remaining below the second-highest salary cap.
Eason's contract extension window ends at 6:00 AM Beijing time next Tuesday.
