October 20th: Today, Kings newcomer Russell Westbrook sat down with the media.
Reporter: You've already accomplished a lot in your career. What other goals do you hope to achieve?
Westbrook: Nothing in particular. Many people would say "win a championship," and that's certainly the answer.
But as I've said before, becoming a champion is incredibly difficult. It's not something that one person can decide. The media and fans place too much emphasis on "champions," but in reality, it requires a lot of luck, conditioning, and talent—everything needs to come together to achieve it.
So, I don't feel compelled to add anything to my resume. For me, from the moment I was drafted, I had already achieved my dream.
What matters next is how I can use this platform and journey to help and inspire others. That's what I'll be most focused on moving forward.
