October 20th: Recently, NBA commentator Kendrick Perkins discussed the Mavericks on a podcast.
Perkins said, "I would rank the Mavericks third in the Western Conference. My ranking is the Thunder first, the Rockets second, the Mavericks third, and then the Nuggets."
"I think the Mavericks will be the best defensive team in the league because they are so talented, with size and athleticism at every position, and they can play suffocating defense every night. Furthermore, their roster depth is the deepest of any team besides the Thunder, especially once Kyrie Irving returns."
