October 23rd: The Trail Blazers lost to the Timberwolves 114-118 in today's NBA regular season.
After the game, Trail Blazers head coach Billups spoke with the media.
A reporter asked: Did the team's performance make you more optimistic, or more frustrated because they didn't capitalize in the final moments?
Billups: I think it was a bit of both. Honestly, I'm very pleased with the team's performance and proud of the players. They gave it their all. I often say I try to create an atmosphere where, "If the opponent wants to beat us, they have to give it their all."
I felt Edwards had a tough time tonight, and everyone saw it, but he was truly outstanding tonight. He's one of the best players in the league.
After crossing half court, he had to make three or four consecutive moves to get to the basket for the layup. I thought he'd start to run out of energy, but he made the crucial shot.
Jandl also played very hard. This is what we wanted, to make our opponents fight hard for every point. We did it, but it’s a pity that we didn’t win the game in the end.
