On October 23rd, the Spurs defeated the Mavericks 125-92 on the road in the NBA regular season.
In this game, Spurs player Victor Wemban-Yama started and played 30 minutes, shooting 15-of-21 from the field, 1-of-2 from three-point range, and 9-of-11 from the free throw line, finishing with 40 points, 15 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 3 blocks.
After the game, Wemban-Yama spoke in an interview about his return to the court.
"I've experienced firsthand the potential for great loss... I no longer take anything for granted. I'm happy to be able to move freely on the court, and I'm determined to keep getting better," Wemban-Yama said.
In the second half of last season, Wemban-Yama suffered a deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder, which ended his season early. He has since recovered.
