VJ Edgecumb, a native of the Bahamas, was selected by the 76ers with the third overall pick.
In the 76ers' game against the Celtics, Edgecumb started and played 42 minutes, scoring 34 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists in the victory.
This was the third-highest scoring rookie debut in NBA history and the highest-scoring debut by a rookie since Wilt Chamberlain in 1959.
