October 24th: Gilbert Arenas recently discussed the MVP award with Brandon Jennings and Nick Young on his GilsAerna Show. Jennings first showed off his shirt featuring Giannis Antetokounmpo and said:
"This is my MVP for this season."
Arenas then said, "Right now, it's more like European players are competing for the MVP award, like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Victor Wembanyama, Luka Dončić, and Nikola Jokic. We need to push the narrative that an American won the MVP award last season. Although Alexander plays for the Canadian national team, he has been training in the United States since he was a child, and Canada is in North America, very close to the United States."
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is a Canadian who played for the University of Kentucky. He won the regular season MVP and the Finals MVP in the 2024-2025 season. He averaged 32.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game in the regular season.
