
October 25th: In the just-concluded first game of the MLB World Series, the Blue Jays played brilliantly, leading the Dodgers 11-4 and securing their first home victory. Blue Jays players Vashaw, Kirk, and Badger each hit three home runs, while the Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani hit one.
The game began with a scoreless first inning. Then, in the second, Enrique Hernandez of the Dodgers hit a clutch single, giving the team a 1-0 lead. In the third, Will Smith of the Dodgers hit another single and added an insurance run, extending the Dodgers' lead to 2-0.
However, the Blue Jays quickly fought back in the fourth inning: Dalton Vashaw hit his first home run of the World Series, tying the score at 2-2. The pitcher was Blake Snell of the Dodgers.
In the sixth inning, the Blue Jays' batting line exploded: Alejandro Kirk hit the team's second home run, and pinch hitter Edison Badger hit his first career grand slam, extending the Blue Jays' lead to 11-2. The Dodgers pitcher who allowed both home runs was Anthony Banda. The Blue Jays scored nine runs in the inning,
which set the third-highest single-inning score in Major League Baseball World Series history.
In the seventh inning, Dodgers player Shohei Ohtani hit his first World Series home run, a two-run blast to right field, bringing the Dodgers within 11-4. The pitcher was Brayton Fisher.
The eighth and ninth innings were scoreless, but the Blue Jays ultimately secured the victory with an 11-4 score.
