
October 26th: In Game 2 of the just-concluded MLB World Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 5-1, tying the series at 1-1.
The starting pitchers for both teams were Yoshinobu Yamamoto (Dodgers) and Kevin Gausman (Blue Jays).
In the top of the first inning, with two outs, Freddie Freeman's double, followed by a single from Will Smith, gave the Dodgers their first run of the game for the second consecutive day, giving them a 1-0 lead.
In the bottom of the third inning, Alejandro Kirk's deep sacrifice fly helped Springer, who was on third base, home to score the tying run.
In the top of the seventh inning, Will Smith and Maxi Muncy hit consecutive solo shots, giving the Dodgers a 3-1 lead. The pitcher was Kevin Gausman of the Blue Jays.
In the top of the eighth inning, the Dodgers scored two more runs, giving them a 5-1 lead. No further runs were scored.
In terms of statistics, Maxi Muncy and Will Smith each hit a home run for the Dodgers. Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched a full nine innings, striking out eight Blue Jays and allowing four hits, holding the Blue Jays to just one run.
