October 27th. Today, US media outlet Clutch Points updated its report.
"Stephen Curry and Victor Wembanyama led the NBA in "stock" statistics at the start of the season, referring to a combination of steals and blocks.
Wembanyama: 14 (12 blocks, 2 steals)
Curry: 11 (7 steals, 4 blocks)
Wembanyama's stats are like a video game. He blocked nine shots in one game, just one shy of a triple-double. If he maintains this level of production while also being a force on offense, he could be in the running for both MVP and Defensive Player of the Year.
It's crazy to have Curry right behind him. People used to say he wasn't a good defender, but over the years he's gotten smarter, stronger, and more focused. Now he can read the offense, shut down drives, and even block shots against taller players.
It's still early in the season, but it's amazing to see.
Wembanyama is setting himself up for history, and Curry is proving he can defend," wrote Clutch Points.
