October 26th: Clippers guard Chris Paul recently gave an exclusive interview to reporter Marc J. Spears.
How's your body feeling? What do you do every day to stay ready?
My body feels great. Every day, practice is at 11 a.m. (Monday), and I get up at 6 a.m. It usually takes me about 50 minutes to get here. I come with my coach. We lift weights at 8 a.m. Then I eat, go out, shoot, and train.
Do you feel like you're 40 already?
I don't think so. Age is just a feeling, and it's one of the factors that determines how old you feel. So, for me, my training style, diet, and preparation are all very maintenance-intensive, but I feel great. The only thing that makes me feel like I'm 40 is when some of my teammates talk about their birth years in the locker room.
About a month ago, I was in the locker room talking to a few guys on the team about how Hurricane Katrina happened shortly after I was drafted. One of them had no idea what I was talking about because he was born in 2005.
