
October 28th - In Game 3 of the MLB World Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 6-5 in extra innings, taking a 2-1 lead in the series.
The starting pitchers for this game were Max Scherzer of the Blue Jays and Tyler Glasno of the Dodgers.
In the bottom of the second and third innings, the Dodgers took a 2-0 lead thanks to solo home runs by Tessos Hernandez and Shohei Ohtani.
In the top of the fourth inning, Alejandro Kirk hit a three-run homer, followed by a sacrifice fly from the Blue Jays for an extra run, putting them ahead 4-2.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, two RBI singles by Ohtani and Freddie Freeman tied the series at 4-4.
In the top of the seventh inning, Bechter hit a single on the right, scoring for the Blue Jays at 5-4. Then, in the bottom of the seventh inning, Ohtani hit another solo home run, tying the series at 5-5.
Neither team scored in the 8th and 9th innings, leading to extra innings.
The game went to extra innings until the 18th, when Freeman hit a walk-off home run to give the Dodgers a 6-5 victory.
This game tied the MLB World Series record for the longest game to go to the 18th inning. The Dodgers and Red Sox also went to the 18th inning in Game 3 of the 2018 World Series. A fourth game between the two teams will follow.
